iProVPN – Fast and Reliable VPN with Good Customer Support
The 2020 global pandemic forced people to stay and work from their homes, and it brought our social and economic life to a standstill.
It is when VPN uses and demand surged across the globe, and a host of new VPNs came onto the scene – iProVPN being one of them.
Despite being a new VPN, it managed to carve its own niche in the competitive market.
The question is, how did a VPN with (still) a small server pool manage to take a leap from relative obscurity to being one of the top-rated software products in this category?
I found that its wide compatibility, high-speed connectivity, and solid customer support are just one of the few reasons behind its ascent to the top of the list.
Another big reason is that the company has its headquarters in British Virgin Islands, where they have no legal obligation to hand over sensitive customer log data to the authorities.
These, along with competitive pricing, have made it one of my favorite VPNs. However, I wanted to check its overall popularity among users worldwide and the reasons behind it, and here’s the result.

Search trends
Are people showing interest in iProVPN?
I looked through the Google Trends data for iProVPN and noticed a sudden spike in interest around late 2024, followed by a sharp drop and then a minor resurgence in early 2025.
A possible reason for the spike in late 2024 was the company rolling out Christmas offers, as they have a history of running aggressive seasonal promotions.
When searching for “iProVPN review,” I observed an even more recent surge in interest, indicating that people started looking for user opinions and reviews, possibly due to a major feature update.
Compared to a well-established competitors like IPVanish VPN, iProVPN remains relatively obscure though. While IPvanish VPN maintains consistent search volume with periodic peaks, iProVPN barely registers in comparison, suggesting that it has yet to gain significant mainstream traction.
The massive difference in interest could be due to IPVanish’s long-standing reputation, larger user base, and broader marketing reach.
To put it into some perspective, IPVanish offers more than 2400+ servers in 108+ countries (https://www.ipvanish.com/blog/new-server-locations-dec-4/), compared to iProVPN’s 250 servers in more than 45 countries (https://iprovpn.com/servers). This single piece of data tells us why IPvanish VPN surged way ahead in the search trends game. Also, consider the fact that it has been around since 2012 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPVanish), and iProVPN was launched only in 2020.
Unique features
iProVPN – Does It Offer Any Unique Features?
iProVPN is definitely not the best VPN out there, but at this price point, I have to admit it offers a lot. It doesn’t have a large server pool like premium ones, ExpressVPN for example, but as a low-cost VPN, it punches above its weight. If you are looking for a no-frills VPN that gets the job done without breaking the bank, I think this might be worth considering, as the product has all the essentials, including the following:
Ad Blocker and Malware Protection
One thing I noticed is that iProVPN has got ad blocker and malware protection, which isn’t exactly groundbreaking, but at this price, it’s a nice touch. The ad blocker cuts down on those annoying pop-ups and auto-play ads, while the malware protection can help you steer away from shady websites. A lot of VPNs would require you to pay extra for to unlock these add-on features.
Split Tunneling
I also liked that it has split tunneling, which lets users pick and choose which apps use the VPN and which don’t. It’s pretty handy if you want to keep your banking app on your regular connection while using the VPN for streaming or torrenting. Sure, bigger VPNs offer the same thing, but they usually gate it behind premium plans. Here, it’s included in any plan you choose.
Global Server Network
While the server network size failed to impress me, to put it mildly, it covers enough ground to get the job done. iProVPN has servers in 45 countries and counting, including the U.S., U.K., Australia, Finland, and Hong Kong.
Simultaneous Connections
A lot of budget VPNs skimp on how many devices you can use at once, but iProVPN lets users connect up to 10. That’s more than enough to cover a laptop, a phone, a tablet, and maybe even a couple of your family members’ devices. Some top-tier VPNs still limit connections to five or six, so this is actually a solid deal. The sweetest part is, you can add more multi logins for just $4 and even unlimited logins for an additional $10.
Military-Grade Encryption
These days, it has become quite common for VPN service providers to employ military-grade encryption. Even though iProVPN is on the cheaper side, I found that it uses AES 256-bit encryption as well, which is the gold standard for security.
All in all, iProVPN is no match for the top-flight VPNs, but for the price, it delivers just enough to make it worth a look. If you are not particularly looking for the most feature-packed or fastest VPN, but you just need something simple, secure, and cheap, you should definitely consider this. I will shed light on the plans and pricing, but before that, let’s take a look at the VPN’s position in the competitive market.

Conclusion
Is iProVPN Worth Your Money?
I think that’s the most sensible question to ask. By now, you know iProVPN packs in all the essentials you need for streaming, P2P torrenting, online banking or simply browsing the web. Nothing too fancy about it, sure, but it gets the job done, and that too at a much lower cost if you take into account even the mid-range VPNs like IPVanish.
However, the biggest drawback of IProVPN is that not all of its servers are up to the mark, and I also found on Reddit that some users couldn’t even connect to any of the servers from their Windows devices. Worse still, they got a black screen after launching the paid version of the application on their systems.
Of course, we can’t play down such complaints. Personally, I would prefer it any day over pricier alternatives, but I strongly recommend getting in touch with the support team with these questions before making a purchase.
